Service Description

Our conference room seats 40 people at tables and is available for hire. Please note that if your booking is for an AGM or outside of business hours please contact Gwoonwardu Mia on 9941 1989 or email gwoonwardumia@museum.wa.gov.au Please note that if any of your attendees wish to visit the exhibition, a standard entry fee applies for non-Carnarvon residents and must be paid prior to entry. Access to the exhibition is not included in venue hire; visitors who are not Carnarvon residents will need to pay the applicable entry fee before entering. Please inform your attendees before your meeting commences.


Terms and Conditions

Bookings Venue hire bookings must be made online via the Gwoonwardu Mia website: https://gahcc.com.au/venue-hire. After submitting a tentative booking, staff will review the request and contact you if needed. For enquiries, phone (08) 9941 1989 or email gwoonwardumia@museum.wa.gov.au. Cancellations Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the event by emailing gwoonwardumia@museum.wa.gov.au and confirming by phone on (08) 9941 1989. Payment Full payment is required at the time of booking. Catering An urn with tea, coffee, sugar and milk, along with a cold-water dispenser, is provided. For catering, contact the centre’s café Jardilunji Mia directly: Fiona Walker – 0435 842 638 Email: fiona.walker@realfutures.net / fifyfofumb@hotmail.com External catering is not permitted. Cleaning The room must be left clean and tidy as it was found. All rubbish should be placed in the bins provided, and all decorations, catering equipment and personal belongings removed. Extra cleaning required due to spills, stains, damage or excessive dirt will incur an additional fee. Conduct The hirer is responsible for the behaviour of all attendees. Children must be supervised at all times. Breaches of these conditions may result in refusal of future bookings. Smoking All areas of the Cultural Centre, including the verandah, courtyard garden and rear outdoor space, are non-smoking. Smoking is only permitted in the car park area across the road near the public toilets. Alcohol and Drugs Gwoonwardu Mia is an alcohol and drug-free venue. Hirers must ensure all events comply with this condition. Deliveries Deliveries must occur during opening hours (8.30am – 4.30pm) unless prior arrangements have been made with staff. Damage Gwoonwardu Mia is not responsible for loss or damage to equipment or property brought to the venue. The hirer will be responsible for any damage to the building, grounds or property. Decorations Candles, confetti, glitter and untethered helium balloons are not permitted. Tethered balloons may be used. Hirers must supply their own tablecloths. Additional Charges Events outside normal opening hours (8.30am – 4.30pm) requiring staff to manage the security system will incur a charge of $200 per hour.
